The journey continues, and Faustine and I chat while our moms do the same.

"What's the difference between the DryNites you're wearing and the diapers Mom bought for me?"

"I've seen commercials on TV," Faustine responds. "I think they are different brands. Yours are Ninjamas, the Pampers brand, while mine are DryNites from Huggies."

"I've seen ads for DryNites but never for Ninjamas."

"I don't think they sell Ninjamas in France, but in Germany, you can find both DryNites and Ninjamas in stores."

"But when we see ads on TV, it's always for nighttime use. Can they be worn during the day?"

"Yes, of course. There are probably very few kids who wear them during the day, but at night, it's quite common. That's why they only talk about these diapers for bedwetting in the commercials."

Faustine gives me the same answer as Mom. They must be right, and we probably aren't the only ones wearing them during the day.

"Is your diaper wet?" I ask her softly.

I hesitated to ask Faustine, and she hesitates a bit to answer. We were already close, but now that we both wear diapers, it binds us even more.

"Yes, it was earlier, but I changed in the restroom when we stopped. Mom always has a clean diaper in her bag. By the way, do you think I could try one of yours next time?"

Her question doesn't surprise me, and I must admit I'm curious to try one of hers too.

"I think Mom would agree, yes, but only if you let me try yours."

"Okay," she replies with a smile. "But wait, so you're okay with wearing them now?"

"Yes, I've thought about it, and maybe it's a solution to my problem," I say very honestly.

"You're right."

"And now it's my turn to ask you a question: did you purposely wet yours, or was it an accident?"

"It's not really an accident," Faustine replies.

"I had a feeling, you know," I say with a little smile.

The journey finally ends, and Aunt comes into a large parking lot before finding a spot. The suitcases for the hotel are left in the car, and only two backpacks are taken. I also see Mom slipping two diapers into ours.

I must admit that I am a bit relieved to know that I no longer risk having an accident in the park. Well, I might still have an accident, but no one will know except the four of us. I see rides in the distance that seem to go very high and very fast, and it already scares me...

So, we head towards the entrance of the park, and I can feel my diaper with every step. It makes a little noise, but I remember what Mom said, that with the noise around us, no one will hear it. This diaper is thicker than underwear, but it's not uncomfortable; in fact, it's quite comfortable.

"Why are you smiling?" Faustine asks me.

"Oh, for no particular reason," I say, not even realizing that I was smiling.

Since our tickets are already purchased online, we quickly pass through the entrance and start enjoying our first rides together. We laugh a lot, and I feel a slight urge to pee.

I inform Mom, who tells me that she also needs to go. So, we agree to make a quick stop at the toilets before the next ride.

I notice that my leggings have completely dried, and I'm glad. There is no sign of my earlier accident, except for the diaper I'm wearing.

I don't have a very strong urge to pee, but I think it's better to go. Once we all finish, we gather and start discussing what to do next.

This restroom stop has allowed me to empty my bladder, and I feel much better. At least I didn't have an accident in my diaper.

Mom suggests having a little snack and offers to go buy us something to drink and eat. We all tell Mom what we want, and she goes to place the order before returning to the outdoor table where we've settled.

While eating and drinking, we look at the park map given to us at the entrance. Even though my cousin and aunt know the park quite well from previous visits, they study the map carefully to make sure they don't miss any rides they want to go on.

"When should we go to Rulantica?" Faustine asks.

"It's not a haunted castle, I hope," I say.

"Haha, no, don't worry, it's the water park," Faustine replies. "You'll see, it's awesome, with great slides."

"We'll probably go tomorrow," her aunt replies. "Let's focus on the rides today."

"How about Euro-Mir now?" Faustine suggests.

At that moment, Mom's phone rings, and she answers it. After a couple of small talk sentences, she indicates that it's her work calling about a problem and suggests that it might take a few minutes.

"I'll do some shopping while waiting. Are you coming?" Aunt says.

Faustine, knowing me, looks at me for confirmation before replying, "Go without us; we'll wait here."

"Alright, but don't stray too far. I'll be back in 10 or 15 minutes."

I'm not a big fan of shopping. Mom says I'll change my mind as I grow up, but for now, it's more of a torture than a real pleasure for me.

"Look," Faustine says as we are now alone, "those two twins in their stroller are wearing diapers."

And indeed, their very short shorts do not conceal their diapers.

"You see," Faustine adds, "we're not the only ones."

"Uh... They're not the same age, you know... They're maybe 2 or 3 years old, no more."

I understand from Faustine's look that she said it in a playful tone.

"And this one," I say, looking at a little boy about 2 years old who passes by us, "his diaper is sticking out at the waist."

"Yours has been sticking out since earlier, you know. I forgot to tell you, forgive me."

I feel my face freeze, and I immediately lower my head to check. If it's true, and Faustine saw it, she's probably not the only one.

"I'm joking, don't worry," she says.

"Your jokes aren't funny, Faustine!"

"Yes, yes, I'm told that often," she replies, very pleased with herself.

Yet, I know my cousin, and I know that this is the kind of joke she likes to make, and I still fall for it.

"Oh, him, though," I say, looking at a little boy around 7 years old passing by, "he really had an accident. Look at this boy; he's bigger than the kids we just saw, and he wet himself, poor thing."

"He's mostly wearing a diaper," Faustine says. "Look closely; he has leaks on the left and right. I think his diaper has reached its limits and is starting to leak because it can't absorb anything more."

And looking more closely, I realize that my cousin is right. Moreover, his shorts are rather puffed up in his crotch. I then take a closer look at what this little boy looks like and realize that he's not that little. I would say he's about 7 years old. He is accompanied by his parents and probably his little sister, around 2 years old.

I feel sorry for him, and I empathize. I imagine myself in his place and the shame I would feel.

That same family then sits at the table right in front of us and starts talking.

"Kevin, couldn't you have told us you needed to pee instead of doing it in your diaper?" his dad questions him.

"Even your little sister, who's not even two yet, lets us know when she needs to go," his mom adds.

"The diaper was just in case, just for emergencies," his dad adds. "It's not a toilet. Well, we'll go change your diaper in the restroom before we continue. If you keep this up, we'll put you back in baby diapers like your little sister."

Kevin looks all apologetic and lowers his head without saying a word. He's probably waiting for the storm to pass, and I would do the same if I were in his place.

"Look at these two young girls," his mom tells him, referring to us. "They're about your age. What do you think they'd think of a little boy wearing a diaper and peeing in it?"

Faustine and I look at each other. We didn't expect to be involved in this.

I already felt sorry for him, and I am even sadder to hear that his parents are trying to make him feel guilty and even trying to humiliate him by speaking loudly for everyone around them to hear.

"Do you think they wear diapers and pee in them?" his dad adds. "You know, at your age, kids don't wear diapers anymore."

His parents are being very harsh on him, and I think it's too much for me. I stand up from my seat, glance at my cousin, who gives me wide eyes, and take a few steps toward this family.

During this very short distance that separates me from them, several thoughts rush through my head. I'm moving towards them, but for what? To say what? In any case, I feel my diaper, and if it worried me before, it reassures me now. I know that in case of stress, it will be there, and it gives me confidence and reduces my stress.

Here I am, in front of them, very close, and they look at me.

"My name is Mathilda, I'm 10 years old, and yes, I wear a diaper under my clothes," I say very calmly while lowering the front of my leggings.

All four of them look at me in amazement. I probably shocked them a bit, and I think I'm also shocked at myself for daring to do this. I glance behind me and see Faustine with wide eyes.

"And yes, I also pee in it sometimes. I don't do it on purpose! I don't do it by choice; it happens, and that's it. I'm not sick; it's just the stress of life and also the rides."

Kevin's parents look at each other, and I feel that they don't know what to say.

"Don't scold your son, don't make him feel guilty, don't embarrass him in front of other people. It's certainly not his fault. Give him time to grow up."

I am giving a lecture to two adults about their son, who is almost my age... Unbelievable. I am surprised at the confidence I have and the way I am talking to them.

Kevin looks at me, and I feel that he is thanking me for what I'm doing for him. His mom approaches me a little more and leans down to be closer to my height.

"Wow, Mathilda, what a lesson you're giving us," she says quite seriously but also with a little smile. "You're very mature for your age."

Now, that's something I didn't expect to hear...

"You know what," she says, leaving the end of her sentence in doubt.

What is she going to say...

"I think you're right, Mathilda. It's true that his dad and I might be a little too impatient with Kevin, and we will give him time to grow up, as you say. After all, it's not that important. Thank you for having the courage to explain how you feel."

Her words light up my face. I didn't know if I was going to get scolded, and it's exactly the opposite that happens.

"I sincerely hope your accidents will stop soon, in any case," she continues.

"Thank you," I tell her. "Thank you for your words towards me but also for Kevin. I have to leave now."

I turn around and head towards Faustine.

"Come," I tell her, "let's go find your mom."

And without turning around to see Kevin and his parents, Faustine and I join them.

"You amazed me," Faustine says to me. "I never thought you could do that!"

"I wet myself," I say... At least in my diaper.

"You must have been really stressed!"

"Yes, a bit. I didn't know how they would react."

"I'm proud of you, cousin, anyway, well done!"

"Thank you, I appreciate what you're saying."

Shortly after, we find Aunt and Mom, but I prefer to keep quiet about what just happened.

We decide to go on a ride with stronger sensations, and I immediately start to feel anxious.

Mom is a bit like me and not very reassured, while Aunt and Faustine can't wait.

"Shall we do the Blue Fire?" Faustine suggests.

"Whoa, what's that?" I ask a little worried. It seems scary, doesn't it?

"It's a rollercoaster, a big one if you prefer."

"Those kinds of rides scare me," Mom says.

"And I have to admit that I'm not reassured either," I say.

"It's for ages 7 and up," Aunt tells us, "don't be scared! Come on, let's go, trust us! And if we don't do these kinds of rides, we'll get bored quickly, you know!"

"Can't we do a less frightening one first?" Mom asks. "Because the one you're talking about is the rollercoaster that's blue with loops, right?"

"We can warm up with Euro-Mir before, why not," Aunt says. "It's for ages 8 and up, but it goes slower and doesn't have loops."

"Well, let's go then," Mom concludes, not very reassured.

So, while walking slowly and chatting, we approach the ride. I'm worried, yes, but I tell myself that if it's for ages 8 and up, it shouldn't be too scary.

"Look, we can see it," Aunt says.

Oh my, but this ride looks scary... We see a cart circulating, and it's very high. I, who have a bit of vertigo... People scream, some have their hands in the air, but others hold on tight.

We are now in front of the beginning of the line, and all four of us are looking at the exit where we can see people laughing. I can see kids our age and even younger. They seem happy with this ride, and it reassures me a bit.

"I'm not sure I want to do this anymore," Mom says.

"Come on, let's not think for 30 minutes," Aunt says, "all four of us are going, as planned. Trust me; you won't regret doing it."

Mom is convinced, and we start queuing. It goes relatively fast because there aren't that many people. I feel the stress starting to rise in me. I know that when I'm stressed, I have these little pee accidents. At least now I know I have my diaper, and that's what makes me feel a bit less stressed than usual, I think. I already peed in it earlier; I shouldn't let it overflow.

About thirty minutes pass, and it's almost our turn to board. It has been agreed that Mom would sit next to Aunt, and I would be next to my cousin Faustine.

The people in front of us are the last ones to board the previous train, and we will be the next ones to get on the following train.

"It's great," Faustine says, "we can choose our seats. Let's go in the front; I've never had the chance!"

I'm not as enthusiastic as her, and even less serene because I know it's the place where you see the most, especially in the big descents where the ground approaches rapidly. I don't want to tell her that I would prefer to go in the middle or at the back; Faustine seems so happy and eager. I wouldn't want to spoil her joy.

The train in front of us starts, and we settle into the one that has just emptied. The previous train has disappeared into a dark tunnel, and just that frightens me. As agreed, Faustine has taken the front seat, and I follow her. I'm a bit shaky, and I feel my legs tremble a little.

"Don't be afraid, Mathilda," Faustine says, "there won't be an accident; rides are very controlled machines, there's really no risk. And you know, this ride is calm, even if it goes a bit fast at one point."

"It's not really an accident on the ride that I'm afraid of, but more of an accident that I could have."

"Remember that you're wearing a diaper, and even if you pee, it will be in your diaper and not in your clothes."

It's true that I've been wearing a diaper since the highway rest stop, and knowing that I'm wearing one gives me a bit more confidence. Faustine is right; I need to try to enjoy this moment. I think, in fact, I'm much more afraid of a pee accident than the sensations rides provide.

Oh well, after all, I already peed in it earlier, so, one more or one less. I regain confidence.

The person in charge of safety comes to fold down the harness that keeps us in the seat and prevents us from falling. I have no choice now, and the departure is about to happen.

I hear Mom talking to Aunt; they are right behind us. Mom says she's scared, and Aunt holds her hand. My hands are securely fixed on the harness, and I don't intend to remove them until the ride comes to a complete stop. I look at Faustine, and her smile speaks volumes about her excitement. I am happy to be here, even if I'm not putting on a brave face.

The train starts, slowly at first and then a bit faster. I feel like peeing, but I'll try to hold it. The train accelerates and starts spinning. After that, I'm not sure what's happening because I close my eyes.

I hear Mom yelling, but also Faustine laughing. I feel that we are going outside and then entering indoors. I am swung from left to right, it brakes, accelerates, and finally the train slows down and comes to a stop.

"It's so awesome!" Faustine shouts as the harnesses release us.

"Well, I wasn't as scared as I thought I'd be," I say.

"But you had your eyes closed the entire ride," Faustine responds, laughing.

"Same here," Mom replies. "Come on, let's get out of here quickly."

I'm quite pleased with myself because I managed to face my fear. However, I have a feeling that a bit of pee has escaped into my diaper, and I instinctively place a hand on my crotch.

"Are you wet?" Mom asks when she sees me doing that.

I wasn't very discreet about it. I'm caught, but then again, it would have been noticed sooner or later. Besides, I risk leaking if I wait too long to change. I wouldn't want the same thing to happen to me as it did to Kevin.

"Yes, Mom."

As soon as we leave the ride, Mom stops me in a secluded area.

"Can I check?"

Without waiting for my answer, Mom checks, and her response is clear.

"Wet, and not just a little... Thankfully, you were wearing that diaper, Mathilda."

Well, it's not like I didn't realize it, but it's still a bit disheartening.

"And you, Faustine?" My aunt asks.

"I think I'm a bit wet too."

Our respective moms decide to make a restroom stop to inspect our diaper situation more closely. It feels strange. I've been in a diaper like a baby for a few hours now, and Mom needs to check if I need to be changed or not.

Shortly after, Faustine and her mom enter a restroom stall, and I do the same with Mom.

She doesn't give me a lecture, and I just get a "It's a good thing you wore that diaper." We come out once I've been changed into a clean diaper.

It feels good to be dry, even though I didn't really feel wet. It was mostly the thickness that was starting to bother me. At least now it's dry and, most importantly, less bulky.

The morning unfolds like this, with various rides and laughter with the family. I'm having a great time, and I think everyone else is too.

Lunchtime arrives, and we stop at a restaurant where we buy sandwiches to keep it affordable.

As we sit at a table, I spot Kevin and his family a little further away, having their lunch.

"I was just about to tell you that I saw him, but you noticed too," Faustine says.

"I hope his parents are a little kinder to him."

"I don't know about that, but his diaper is sticking out at the back of his shorts."

"Oh, poor thing," I say, while putting my hand on my back to check if the same isn't happening to me.

"Don't worry, I would have told you if it was," Faustine reassures me with a wink.

I'm glad Faustine is looking out for me, and I plan to do the same for her.

The meal ends quickly, and we continue to explore the park. I notice that I no longer think about my diaper, and it has become almost natural for me to wear one now. It's only when the urge to pee arises that I remember what I'm wearing. So far, we haven't done any high-intensity rides, and I haven't felt stressed like earlier.

"What if we try the 'Blue Fire' this time?" Faustine suggests.

"The roller coaster with a loop that goes really fast?" I ask, looking at Mom, somewhat concerned, and she seems a bit worried too.

"Yes, that's the one," confirms Aunt. "Come on, be brave, both of you. You've already done the other one earlier; you'll see, this one isn't much more impressive."

Well, I can try to gather my courage, I think to myself. After all, I enjoy the sensations provided by rides like this. What I don't like is the potential consequences it can have on me, but now I'm wearing a diaper, and it will protect me in case of an accident.

"Okay," I say happily.

Faustine and our respective moms look at me, surprised but smiling.

"You surprise me, Mathilda," Mom responds. "But if you're up for it, so am I!"

And that's how we head towards that ride. Even though I'm reassured by what I'm wearing, there's still a little knot forming in my stomach as the ride approaches.
